David Kirschman, M.D. David Kirschman, M.D., President and CEO
Dr. Kirschman is an inventor and entrepreneur with an extensive background in the clinical and corporate aspects of the medical device industry. He completed training in neurosurgery and performed over 1500 spinal procedures during his clinical career. Dr. Kirschman has 6 issued and 23 patents pending for a wide range of spinal devices. Dr. Kirschman has been the President and CEO of X-spine since 2003. He received his BS in Biological Science cum laude from Colorado State University and M.D. from University of Colorado School of Medicine.
 
Joseph Ryan, Vice President Joseph Ryan, Vice President
Mr. Ryan brings over 20 years of experience in the spinal device industry with leadership positions in Alphatec, Scient’x, Surgical Dynamics and Signus Medical. He is a recognized leader in the spinal industry, particularly in areas of sales, marketing, distribution and corporate management.
 
Michael Schmitz Michael Schmitz, CPA, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Schmitz is a highly experienced financial practitioner with financial leadership roles in diverse industries including manufacturing and technology as well as a background in public accounting. He received his BS in accounting, cum laude, from the Miami University of Ohio. Mr. Schmitz is a certified public accountant and certified management accountant.
 
Eric Linder Eric Linder, BSE, MBA, Director of Engineering
Mr. Linder brings extensive experience in medical device engineering, project management, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance. He received his BSE, summa cum laude, in biomedical engineering and MBA from Arizona State University. Prior to joining X-spine, he held engineering management positions for medical device companies in several industries including pain management and patient monitoring.
 
Chris Canis Christopher Canis , Director of Operations
Mr. Canis brings an extensive background in corporate operations including operations in the spinal implant and biologics industries, as well as in multiple distribution and manufacturing settings.
